2024

What a Year 2024 was. Whilst every year in recent times has had its merits, 2024 saw some very important projects complete and strong new starters join the team.

Sydney

This year saw us implement an alternative Oracle stack based on Oracle Standard Edition with are replication from Quest Shareplex, monitoring by Quest Foglight and encryption by Randtronics Data Privacy Manager. The customer was an Agency of the NSW State Government and was enhancing a very important system that has previously failed due to overwhelming application load at peak times. Rather than spend millions of dollars, we designed and implemented a solution that had a total cost of 15% what had been quoted by others to resolve. And resolve it did, the customer's performance testing scripts could not even crash the new system whereas previously this was an easy task. Their new peak load passed with less than 30% utilization on the system. Further details on this solution design can be found here

Canberra

Delivering firsts is always challenging as there is little to learn from others, and whilst it is likely we have delivered Australia's first Exadata X10Ms into production, we also delivered Australia's first Oracle GovCloud implementation for Comcare Australia. With deadlines to beat imminent infrastructure support renewals, we worked with Comcare to deliver the initial GovCloud implementation and are now running it on their behalf. To meet the client's requirements, we also implemented an offsite DR separate to the GovCloud Data Centre in Canberra. The client has now realised significant savings in migrating from on-premises infrastructure to now a service-based deployment of Oracle on the Government confined cloud.

2024, a Year of Firsts

An alternative Oracle Stack, a modern and enabling Apex application, new X10M Exadatas, migrations to GovCloud, and Dell Powerflex deployments, it has been quite a year. Clients benefit from our agnostic approach where we design cost-effective solutions that align with their strategic outcomes. We aren't tied to one solution, many of our competitors are unfairly constrained and have vested interest in solutions being offered. Our success continues and we have welcomed three new starters and have celebrated the retirement of one of our own. It is not only client success that we cherish, but our employee's success and satisfaction is also extremely important. At the end of year celebrations we have held in Melbourne, Canberra & Sydney, all had a common theme of admiration of their fellow colleagues and the achievements delivered.

We have been working on some new solutions for 2025, and we suspect that this time next year we will be reporting more firsts that make significant difference to our clients. Thank you to our people and clients for a wonderfully rewarding 2024. You can learn more about Corvus IT?here.
